Semi-welded Plate Heat Exchangers are commonly used as evaporators, condensers, desuperheaters, or oil coolers and are designed for heating and cooling aggressive material. It also works with a wide range of refrigerants and is especially well-suited to ammonia-based applications.

King DuPont semi-welded plate ammonia evaporator is to weld two plates together to form a sealed channel. In the refrigeration application, the refrigerant flows in the welding channel and only contacts with the two refrigerant and compressor oil resistant sealing rings at the inlet and outlet of the plate set. The medium on the other side is still sealed with rubber ring. If necessary, this structure can be removed to make each plate convenient for maintenance, and at the same time, the stability of the welded plate group is guaranteed. It is especially applicable to the treatment of demanding fluids or gases, such as ammonia, corrosive chemicals, etc., which are not allowed to leak each other. When used in the ammonia refrigeration process, the leakage of ammonia is significantly reduced.
